Unified Design Guidelines Project
Currently, Tulsa has five Historic Preservation Zoning districts — each with its own set of Design Guidelines. In order to make the guidelines easier to use for homeowners, the TPC is proposing to combine the five separate documents into one set of Unified Design Guidelines.
In late 2010, the TPC appointed a committee to study the existing guidelines and develop a working draft of unified guidelines. After months of going through each set of guidelines line-by-line, the committee presented a draft to the TPC in August 2011.
After conducting six meetings throughout Tulsa's historic districts, the committee received a good deal of feedback from neighborhood residents. Moving into 2012, the committee will conduct an additional meeting with property owners to discuss specific guideline suggestions and ideas.
