Tulsa Preservation Commission Staff

The Tulsa Preservation Commission is staffed by professional planners in the City of Tulsa Planning Department.

Ms. DeCort acts as Tulsa’s Historic Preservation Officer and oversees the Certified Local Government program. She is responsible for program planning and grant administration as well as providing primary staff support to the Tulsa Preservation Commission. Ms. DeCort has a Master’s Degree in Community Planning with a specialization in Historic Preservation from the University of Cincinnati’s highly-regarded College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP). She worked in planning and preservation in the Ohio Valley before joining the City of Tulsa’s planning team.

Mr. Sharrer is a life-long Tulsan and oversees the Certificate of Appropriateness application process. He has a Master’s Degree in Architectural Urban Studies from the University of Oklahoma Urban Design Studio, completing an intensive level architectural survey of Tulsa’s mid-century Lortondale neighborhood for his thesis project.
