Creek Council Oak Tree Survives Ice Storm

Creek Council Oak Tree Despite an ice storm of historic proportions that damaged thousands of trees in Tulsa last week, the Creek Council Oak Tree stands tall and strong. Limbs from surrounding trees littered the park and neighborhood, but we’re happy to report that the Council Oak didn’t lose a single branch.

Our good friend Greg Warren from the Parks Department reports that acorns from the Council Oak have been planted around town over the years, and those descendant trees didn’t lose a branch in the storm, either.

For reactions from neighborhood residents, please read the following Tulsa World article.
